How a reed diffuser works:

A reed diffuser typically consists of a decorative container or glass bottle filled with a mixture of essential oils or fragrance oils and a carrier liquid. The carrier liquid is usually a blend of water and a substance that helps the oils travel up the reeds.

The reeds are the thin, porous reeds made from materials such as rattan or bamboo are inserted into the container. The reeds act as wicks, absorbing the scented liquid from the container. As the reeds absorb the scented liquid, the fragrance travels up through the reeds and is released into the air. The scent then naturally diffuses throughout the room.

The longevity of the fragrance depends on the size of the container, the number of reeds used, the strength of the oils, and the environmental conditions. Generally, reed diffusers can last several weeks to a few months before the scented liquid needs to be replenished.

The reeds can be cleaned of any clogging by putting in the boiling water and then dried to be used for different fragrances, hence does not need frequent replenishment.
